Steel Fabrication
Hillsdale Fabricators is certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Canadian Welding Bureau. Since our founding in 1958, we have performed as an accomplished fabricator of structural steel for power plants, automotive and industrial manufacturing facilities, sports venues, airports, bridges, flood control structures and commercial buildings. Hillsdale also executes complex pipe structures and custom plate fabrication for a variety of applications.
Coatings
Our 40,000-square-foot environmentally-controlled painting facility provides optimal conditions for coatings year-round. We hold the American Institute of Steel Construction’s Sophisticated Paint Coating Endorsement – Enclosed.
Connected to our fabrication shop, the paint facility also features six loading docks equipped with two 20-ton overhead cranes and a 40-foot-wide by 22-foot-tall opening that allows for handling and loading of large structures. A 4,000-square-foot ancillary blasting building allows for surface preparation of the largest of shipping assemblies.
Steel Erection
Hillsdale Fabricators self-performs structural and miscellaneous steel erection, while specializing in large, complex structures. We have the resources to deliver your project safely and on-time, regardless of project complexity, site conditions or demanding schedule parameters. Steel erection is performed as an AISC Advanced Certified Steel Erector (ACSE).
Design Assist and Preconstruction Budgeting
Our preconstruction team helps customers with accurate budgeting and offers input on constructability and schedule. We do this by drawing on our vast experience and staying abreast of industry advancements.
Detailing and Engineering
Our detailing and engineering department combines experience and technology to deliver a successful project. As a vital part of the process, they work closely with the project team to translate design criteria into reality.
Barge Shipping
Hillsdale Fabricators uses its river yard facility to fabricate and finish large steel assemblies, as well as barge-ship to project sites located near inland waterways. Our 12-acre river yard is a short distance from our fabrication facility and is located on the Mississippi River just north of downtown St. Louis.
