TEST POST: Olmsted Dam Celebrates Ribbon-Cutting

Alberici joined members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, numerous lawmakers, and senior government officials in a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking completion of the $3 billion Olmsted Locks & Dam. Alberici and our joint venture partner, AECOM, constructed the dam using innovative methods and one-of-a-kind equipment that minimized impacts to river traffic and the environment.

Olmsted Dam is the largest civil construction project in the history of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Its completion marks a major milestone for modernization the nation’s inland waterway system. Located on the Ohio River near its confluence with the Mississippi River, the completed project replaces two century-old locks and will help move more than 90 million tons of goods through the busiest stretches of inland waterway in the United States with unmatched efficiency.
