Hillsdale fabricated 130 stop logs and a lifting beam to the oldest public port on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, the Port of Pine Bluff. Prior to shipping, our quality team function tested the lifting beam mechanism and balanced each stop log to ensure all components were operational.
Hillsdale fabricated temporary sliding steel girders for relocation of a new steel truss superstructure. The structure was moved 55 feet laterally onto its permanent, newly rehabilitated piers using a technique called bridge sliding. The team slid the 2,428-foot-long structure along steel rails and plates into place, making it the longest bridge slide in North America.
