The Williams Crossing Pedestrian Bridge is a 1,440-foot-long, 12-span signature structure spanning the Arkansas River in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Commissioned by the River Parks Authority and designed by Schlaich Bergermann Partner, the bridge replaces a structurally deficient 1975 crossing and provides a vital connection to the Gathering Place, Tulsa’s 66.5-acre riverfront park. The project is the first multi-span, deck-stiffened plate-arch pedestrian bridge and the longest arch-type pedestrian bridge in the United States. Fabricated using weathering steel for long-term durability and low maintenance, the structure features slender arches, complex curvature, and precise geometry. Hillsdale Fabricators fabricated and erected approximately 1,300 tons of structural steel for the bridge, developing a highly specialized erection sequence and delivering the landmark structure safely and on schedule.
