Delivering a critical facility for global military and humanitarian missions

Hillsdale Fabricators provided structural steel fabrication and erection for the C-5 Hangar Facility for the 164th Airlift Wing of the Tennessee Air National Guard. The approximately 330,000-square-foot project included a new maintenance hangar, corrosion control hangar, fuel cell hangar and supporting facilities designed to accommodate eight C-5 Galaxy cargo planes.

To improve cost and schedule performance on the restricted site, Hillsdale Fabricators was engaged during preconstruction to develop an erection sequencing plan. The approach included off-site fabrication of structural steel assemblies prior to delivery, reducing on-site laydown needs and streamlining field erection.
