NextStar Energy’s lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario, is Canada’s first large-scale electric-vehicle battery production plant. Developed by NextStar—a joint venture between Stellantis and LG Energy Solution—the 220-acre greenfield campus will produce more than 49 gigawatt-hours of batteries annually. The project includes more than four million square feet of advanced manufacturing space, anchored by a 2.7-million-square-foot Cell Building and a 445,000-square-foot Module Building, along with numerous supporting process, utility, and administrative structures. Hillsdale Fabricators supplied 38,000 tons of structural steel for the project, supporting an aggressive delivery schedule and the complex demands of a first-of-its-kind facility.
